"The reopening of the Kars-Gyumri railway will benefit the entire region." Kostanyan

Armenia is satisfied with the positive dynamics in normalizing relations with Turkey and is ready for full normalization, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan said in an interview with Anadolu.

"We are satisfied with the positive dynamics in normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations. We believe that a lot can still be done, especially regarding the full regulation of relations, the opening of the border, and the establishment of diplomatic relations," said Kostanyan.

Kostanyan described the negotiations between the leaders of Turkey and Armenia as positive. "The two leaders showed a willingness to understand each other's positions," he said.

Kostanyan expressed optimism about future cooperation, particularly regarding the resumption of the Kars-Gyumri railway, which will benefit Armenia, Turkey, and the entire region.

"We know that many logistics chains are now blocked or malfunctioning. The Kars-Gyumri railway can become a new gateway for Armenia to Europe, Turkey to Central Asia, and China. The message we always try to convey to our Turkish partners is that now is the time to act," said Kostanyan.

Referring to Armenia's recognition of Palestine, Kostanyan said that this decision is consistent with Armenia's long-standing support for the settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the coexistence of two states. According to him, this step taken by Armenia can support stability and peace in the Middle East.

Kostanyan answered the question about the growing demand for UN reform. "It is necessary to urgently reform the multilateral system to restore the world order, which will be based on the rules observed by all."
