The Wall Street Journal writes that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was not able to increase Washington's support during his visit to the USA.
According to the newspaper, Zelensky presented his so-called "Victory Plan" to US President Joe Biden. Still, the Biden administration was skeptical of the plan and wanted more details.
The newspaper notes that during the meeting with Zelenskiy, the former president of the USA, presidential candidate Donald Trump stated that he considers it possible to agree on the ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible. Zelensky, for his part, expressed the opinion that the military operations in Ukraine will not end until the US presidential elections.
"Officials in Europe and Kyiv fear that the ceasefire agreement will lead to the US ending support for Ukraine," WSJ notes.
