The presidents of France and Iran, Emmanuel Macron and Masoud Pezeshkian, held a meeting during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
"Thousands of innocent people are dying in Gaza and Lebanon, but the world is silent. Western countries should stop using double standards because this situation has made Israel even more arrogant. Today, the people of Iran and the region have suffered seriously from Israel's crimes, the continuation of which can bring the situation out of control," said Pezeshkian.
For his part, Macron strongly condemned the aggression against Lebanon and assured that France was making every effort to stop it.
Speaking about international problems and their solutions, Pezeshkian noted that Iran has never sought nuclear weapons. "Of course, we are working on strengthening our defense base and deterrence force. We are ready to cooperate and talk to remove the obstacles to Iran's development," said Pezeshkian.
