During the meeting with Turkish President Recep Erdogan within the framework of the UN General Assembly in New York, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran is ready to strengthen cooperation with Turkey, especially in enhancing regional security.
Speaking about his proposal to create a regional communication network, Pezeshkian said that the prerequisite for such a mechanism is the provision of security conditions.
"To implement this proposal, it is necessary to protect the region from terrorism. In order to strengthen the unity among the nations of the region, it is necessary to create a large market. The exchange of academic, scientific and economic experience will show the greatness of the Muslim world to the whole world. Islamic unity will prevent Israel's crimes in Gaza," said Pezeshkian.
In turn, Erdogan condemned Israel's actions, calling them barbaric. Erdogan welcomed the idea of cooperation between Turkey and Iran in the field of security, noting that the cooperation between the two countries derives from the interests of the two neighbors.
