"Yerevan is conducting a policy of self-isolation." Hadjizadeh

Azerbaijan has always been in favor of opening communications in the region. Ayhan Hajizade, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, said in an interview with Report.

"The leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Armenia: 2020 within the framework of the tripartite declaration of November 10, efforts have been made for a long time to advance that process. The Armenian side assumed certain obligations within the framework of that document. Point 9 of the tripartite statement clearly states what obligations Armenia has and how the control of transport communication will be organized.

However, for almost four years, Armenia has not fulfilled its obligations regarding the opening of communications connecting the western regions of Azerbaijan with the Autonomous Republic of Nakhichevan.

Taking this into account, Azerbaijan considered alternative ways. For example, Azerbaijan has signed an agreement on the construction of a road and railway road through the territory of Iran, which will provide a direct transport connection with Nakhichevan.

The work done during these years is proof that, unlike Armenia, Azerbaijan has made a significant contribution to the development of transport corridors in the region.

If the Armenian side is interested in the opening of communications in the region, it should fulfill its obligations. With its destructive attitude, Yerevan once again proves that it is pursuing a policy of self-isolation," Hajizade said.
