The USA imposed sanctions on several Russian media outlets and Margarita Simonyan

The USA imposed sanctions on Russia Today, RIA News, RT, Sputnik, Ruptly media, and Margarita Simonyan.

The US Treasury Department document states that US authorities have added these media outlets to the list of foreign agencies. It clarifies that Washington will also take steps to introduce visa restrictions for their employees.

Margarita Simonyan and several top RT managers remained within the new restrictions. The document describes Simonyan as a central figure in efforts to discredit the Russian government. Yelizaveta Brodskaya, Anton Anisimov, Andrei Kyashko, Konstantin Kalashnikov, Elena Afanaseva, Aleksei Garashchenko, Anastasia Yermoshkina, Aleksandr Nezhentsev., and Vladimir Tabak are also on the list of restrictions.
