German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Moldova to support President Maia Sandu in the October 20 elections. The former president of Moldova, the leader of the opposition party of socialists, Igor Dodon, stated this, noting that Scholz's visit lasted only a few hours and passed without concluding any agreement.
"The German chancellor's visit to Moldova is a good impulse if only it does not have pre-election implications. That's exactly what we saw. I have not heard Sandu and Scholz discuss why the export of Moldovan goods to Germany decreased by 7-8% in the first four months of this year. I did not hear them talk about the German investors who left Moldova. I haven't heard that other topics are being discussed, which concern everyone," said Dodon.
According to him, other EU officials will visit Moldova before the upcoming elections to support Sandu.
