Lithuania has expanded the restrictions on vehicles with Belarusian registration, the State Customs Committee of Belarus reported.
Vilnius not only banned their entry from August 16 but also demanded that all Belarusian vehicles in Lithuania leave the territory of the Baltic Republic by January 18, 2025.
"Lithuania's sanctions against ordinary citizens enter into force tomorrow in full. "From August 16, the country prohibits the entry of all passenger cars registered in Belarus into its territory," the message says.
"This ban has been in effect since July 18. Until now, there has been an exception for the fact that Lithuanians have allowed passenger cars with them during Belarusian registration if they were driven by the owner with a valid Lithuanian visa or residence status," they noted in the department.
