The new leader of Hamas has told Israel that he wants a ceasefire

Citing Israel's source, the American CNN channel reported that the new leader of the radical Islamist movement Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, who was elected after the assassination of former Politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh, has conveyed a message to Israel through Egyptian and Qatari intermediaries that he wants a cease-fire.

"It is not yet known whether Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants it," the TV channel explains.
