The UN has called for the protection of displaced people's facilities from attacks
All facilities used to accommodate displaced persons should not be targeted for attack. Thus, in response to TASS's request, the Deputy Press Secretary of the UN Secretary-General, Farhan Haq, commented on the Israeli attack on the Al-Tabiyyin school in the Gaza Strip, as a result of which more than 100 people were killed.
"All places intended for the displaced must be protected from attacks, according to international humanitarian law," he said.
On the morning of August 10, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that the country's air force attacked the headquarters of Hamas, which is located in the Al-Tabiyyin school in Gaza. According to the Israel Defense Forces, this headquarters was involved in the planning and execution of attacks against the Israeli military. Hamas said Israel was "inventing pretexts" for attacks on civilian targets and dismissed the IDF's claims as lies.
