The Washington Post reports that Ukraine controls the Sujai gas measuring station, which is about 5 miles (8 km) from Russian territory. The paper cites an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on condition of anonymity.
The publication's interlocutor added that Washington did not criticize Ukraine for its military operations in the Kursk region.
"Despite all the statements of the Russian side, the information about the occupation of territories by Ukraine has not yet been officially confirmed. This may be the largest ground operation in the territory of Russia," the media writes.
The Washington Post also reports that Ukraine recently received permission from the United States to attack Russian troops at some points on the border.
"The American official, who wished to remain anonymous, said that Washington is trying to contact the Ukrainian military to learn more about the operation and its goals," writes the mass media.
Let us add that gas is supplied to Hungary and Slovenia from the Suja gas measuring station.
