Several countries, including the United States, Britain, and France, have called on their citizens to leave Lebanon as tensions rise in the region amid fears of a new Middle East war amid the Israel-Lebanon and Israel-Iran conflicts.
The US is sending additional warships to the region. UK Foreign Minister David Lammin called on their citizens to leave immediately. The situation in the area is tense after Iran vowed revenge against Israel, which it accuses of killing Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in the capital, Tehran, earlier this week. Haniyeh's death followed an Israeli strike on Beirut that killed Fuad Shukri, Hezbollah's most senior military commander.
