The US Department of Defense has announced that it will provide two aid packages to Ukraine. One is the first package worth 200 million dollars. It includes anti-aircraft defense equipment, HIMARS ammunition, mortar shells, and Javelin anti-tank missiles. Within the framework of this package, weapons will be sent to Ukraine directly from the American army.
A second, more significant aid package of $1.5 billion will be allocated within the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) framework. This program does not mean directly transferring equipment to Ukraine but signing contracts with enterprises to produce or purchase weapons.
