Iran's spiritual leader Ali Khamenei met with RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Tehran. At the meeting, Khamenei thanked Pashinyan for participating in the Iranian president's inauguration ceremony and attending the funeral ceremony of martyr Raisi. Khamenei noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers the Zangezur route harmful to Armenia and continues to insist on this approach.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that foreigners should not create restrictions on their relations with neighboring countries.
Pashinyan, in turn, called the relations between Iran and Armenia strategic, expressed his satisfaction with their expansion and diversification, and assessed the continuity of this process. Pashinyan also noted that Armenia has repeatedly stated that it does not accept any trans-regional route within its country.
