"Kathimerini" newspaper reported that Greece aspires to have its representative in the new European Commission for the European Commissioner for Defense Affairs position.
The position of the EU defense commissioner is in the interest of the Greek government; as earlier, the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis led the creation of a standard defense policy at the pan-European level. With Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, they proposed to create an analog of the Israeli anti-missile defense system "Iron Dome" in Europe.
