The director of the US Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, has resigned because of the assassination attempt against the presidential candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, reports The Telegraph.
"I take full responsibility for the security system vulnerability.
In the light of recent events, it is with a heavy heart that I have made the difficult decision to resign from the director position," he said in a letter to his employees, according to The Telegraph.
