Trump's election headquarters has been preparing for Biden's withdrawal from the election campaign since May
Back in May, former US President Donald Trump's re-election campaign began preparing for the current leader of the country, Joe Biden, to withdraw from the presidential race. This was reported by "Politico" newspaper, citing a document prepared by members of Trump's team. Trump's campaign staff sent an 11-page document titled "Secret Project" in May, a month before the televised debates, which proved disastrous for Biden. It outlined scenarios in which Biden's mates nominate another Democrat as their presidential nominee. In particular, the text talked about Biden's possible withdrawal from the pre-election competition.
Another Trump campaign document, dated May 27, reviewed press articles that also suggested an alternative Democratic candidate. It lists the names of potential candidates, including US Vice President Kamala Harris.
