The International Court of Justice believes that Israel's actions violate the Palestinians' right to self-determination, court president Nawaf Salam said at a meeting on Friday.
The International Court of Justice has published an advisory opinion on the legal consequences of Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories.
"As a result of Israeli policies and practices, which have continued for decades, the Palestinian people have long been deprived of their right to self-determination, and the continuation of these actions undermines the realization of that right in the future. For these reasons, the court finds that Israel's illegal policies and practices violate Israel's obligation to respect the Palestinian people's right to self-determination," Salam said at the court hearing in The Hague.
