Germany wants Georgia to join the European Union (EU), but for that Georgia must meet the criteria. German Ambassador to Georgia Peter Fischer announced this.
He noted that the membership process was stopped precisely because of the course of the Georgian government. The ambassador added that Germany will not accept new financial obligations towards Georgia, and the German army will stop participating in the partnership with Georgia. He noted that Berlin is considering other steps related to Georgia.
