The indefinite postponement of the Georgian-American "Worthy Partner" exercises threatens Georgia's defense capability, said the president of the republic, Salome Zurabishvili.
"This harms our country. This could be the same damage as the Russian law on our European road. It is damaging to our strategic partnership with the United States, a threat to our defense capability, and to everything that our country has built up to this day," Zurabishvili said.
He warned that there would be no peace in the country if it appeared isolated and without partners, and there would be no resources to strengthen the army.
Earlier, the Pentagon announced that the US has indefinitely postponed joint military exercises with Georgia due to the review of bilateral relations. The exercises were scheduled from July 25 to August 6.
