Scientists have discovered an ancient temple of human sacrifice in Peru

Reuters news agency reports that a group of archaeologists from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru discovered the ruins of a 4,000-year-old ritual temple buried in the sands of the Zana desert region on the Pacific coast of northern Peru.

The team excavated the compound and found the skeletons of three adults inside. One of them was previously wrapped in some robe or cloth. Next to him were also the remains of the offerings.

Experts assume that human sacrifices could have been performed here in the past.

On one of the temple walls temple's scientists, we discovered a high relief depicting a mythological figure with a man's body and a bird's head.
