Two more U.S. polls showed former President Donald Trump widening his lead over incumbent Joe Biden to 6 percentage points, his largest lead in either survey. A New York Times/Siena College poll published on July 3 showed Trump leading Biden by 49/43%. The Wall Street Journal poll showed almost the same results - 48% for Trump and 42% for Biden. This is the largest poll in favor of Trump.
In addition, nearly three-quarters of those polled by the Times said Biden is too old to run again. That's up 5 percentage points from a similar poll last week, ahead of the high-profile debate.
