Macron warned Netanyahu to avoid confrontation with Hezbollah

During a telephone conversation between the two leaders in Lebanon, French President Emmanuel Macron called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to prevent a clash between Israel and Hezbollah terrorists. Macron reiterated his grave concern over the deepening tensions between Hezbollah and Israel. It stressed the "absolute need to prevent a conflict that would harm the interests of both Lebanon and Israel." said the statement of the French President.

He also argued that it was "urgent for all parties to move quickly towards a diplomatic solution" to end the conflict sparked by the October 7 attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
