RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan spoke about Armenia-EU and Armenia-Russia relations during his visit to Latvia.
"The actions in our region are the same as in Ukraine; the forces acting are different. We need support for the establishment of lasting peace. We have no territorial demands towards our neighbors. All we need is the desire of the Azerbaijani government to establish peace. In this, we need the support of Latvia and other EU partners, and we share the values of the EU in this matter. That is why we need support to become a full member of the EU family," said Simonyan.
Simonyan commented on the Russian position. "Regarding the jealousy of the Russian Federation. Being an honest partner, protecting allies, and being honest with partners was necessary. Our society has decided to be a member of the EU. I think that sometime shortly, we will have a referendum on EU membership, and our people will say "YES" to that referendum."
