US Deputy Secretary of State James O'Brien spoke about his planned visit to Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace negotiations during the hearing in the House of Representatives.
"We are clear with President Aliyev that it is time for peace, and it is not only the issue of Azerbaijan but the entire region and Central Asia. All those countries now export to the world either through China or Russia. To find an alternative, they have to go through Azerbaijan. One way goes through Georgia to the Black Sea, but another, wider, can go through Azerbaijan-Armenia-Turkey. From that point of view, we need a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It is time to conclude a peace with which we can solve the consequences of the war," said O'Brien.
