In Washington, the Minister of Defense of Israel, Yoav Gallant, stated that
Israel has the military potential to return Lebanon to the "stone age" in the event of a conflict but does not seek to do so.
"We don't want to get involved in a war because there is nothing good for Israel in it. We can return Lebanon to the stone age, but we don't want that," said Gallant. Gallant said that he had discussed the plans for the Gaza Strip after the conflict in Washington with some officials of the US administration.
