James O'Brien, the US assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs, will visit Azerbaijan and meet with the country's president, Ilham Aliyev.
"In Baku, Assistant Secretary of State O'Brien will meet with senior Azerbaijani government officials, including Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, to highlight progress in US-Azerbaijan bilateral relations and US support for a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Assistant Secretary of State O'Brien will also meet with members of political society to reiterate the urgency of Azerbaijan's adherence to international obligations to protect human rights," the message said.
