577 pilgrims died during the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj) in Saudi Arabia, Associated France Press writes, citing sources. According to the agency, 323 of them were Egyptian citizens who died from diseases caused by the heat in the city. Another 60 dead were Jordanians (Jordanian authorities announced 41 dead).
