About 1 million Palestinians have been forcibly displaced in the Gaza Strip since Israel intensified its operations in Rafah in May. Volker Türk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, announced this while presenting the 56th session of the UN Human Rights Council opened in Geneva.
