France intends to provide Ukraine with modernized Mirage 2000-5 multi-target fighters. French President Emmanuel Macron announced this on June 6 in an interview with the French TV channels TF1 and France 2. "They will allow Ukraine to defend its territory and airspace," he said, clarifying that Ukrainian pilots can undergo training in France to fly the Mirage as early as the end of 2024. The French president has yet to specify the exact number of fighters.
