Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro signed a bilateral security agreement in Lisbon on Tuesday, May 28.
The document is intended for ten years. As Montenegro stated during a joint press conference with Zelenskiy, within the framework of the agreement, his country will provide 126 million euros to Kyiv this year to defend against Russian aggression. It will support Ukraine "as long as necessary." Earlier this week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed similar security agreements with the EU and two other NATO members: May 27 with Spain and May 28 with Belgium.
