Russia launched the attack on Kharkiv earlier than planned

Russia launched its offensive in the Kharkiv region earlier than planned because the US had blocked military aid. Analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) came to such a conclusion.

The Russian Armed Forces launched limited offensive operations along the northern border of the Kharkiv region on May 10, even though their group needed more strength and personnel. Russia committed a limited number of forces in this direction but eventually became involved in heavy infantry fighting, and by May 14, the pace of the offensive began to slow.
