The European Council founded the Diplomatic Academy of the European Union (EDA).
It will provide education and training in EU external action, in particular in the field of standard foreign and security policy, for Member States' diplomats and external relations officers of the EU institutions to develop and promote a common understanding of the EU's role in the world, disseminating the best practices of EU diplomacy, and strengthening the "European diplomatic spirit of the academy."
