Russia launched an anti-satellite device into orbit

Pentagon Press Secretary Patrick Ryder announced that Russia had launched an anti-satellite space device into Earth's orbit. According to him, this happened on May 16. Ryder added that the American government satellite is in the same orbit.

"We are monitoring that on May 16, Russia launched a satellite into low earth orbit, which we believe is likely an anti-satellite weapon that could potentially attack other satellites in low earth orbit," a Pentagon press secretary said at a briefing.
