The EU welcomes the progress made within the framework of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border demarcation process, based on the 1991 Almaty Agreement and, in particular, the protocol signed at the 9th meeting of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border commissions on May 15, which led to the conclusion of an agreement on several sections of the border.
"The EU encourages the parties to take further decisive steps to resolve other outstanding bilateral issues and remains committed to supporting efforts to establish stable and sustainable peace in the South Caucasus region," the statement said.
