US President Joseph Biden has signed a law banning the import of non-irradiated, low-enriched uranium produced in Russia or by a Russian enterprise. The White House's official portal announced this on Monday, May 13. The corresponding bill was previously approved by the US Senate.
National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said this would lead to "historic actions that will strengthen our energy and economic security by reducing and ultimately eliminating dependence on Russia for civilian nuclear power."
