The United States welcomed Kazakhstan's offer to host the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Almaty on May 10 to advance the negotiations on a peace agreement between the two countries. They reported the Washington correspondent of "TURAN."
"Almaty is an important, symbolic place," a State Department representative said in response to TURAN's request. "We welcome Kazakhstan's offer to host the meeting. As we have stated many times, we are encouraged by the progress made to date between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and we support both countries as they move toward a peace agreement for the benefit of the entire region," the US State Department responded.
