The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine issued a statement regarding the demarcation of the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, in which, in particular, it is stated:
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine welcomes the agreements reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the delimitation of the interstate border based on the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991.
Demarcation of the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia based on respect for state sovereignty, recognition of territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, peaceful settlement of conflicts, and refusal to use force or threats is a necessary condition for the regulation of relations between the countries and ensuring stability and security in the region.
In the context of Russia's aggressive policy and Russia's constant threats to the Baltic States, the Black Sea region, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia, reaching an agreement on the demarcation of the interstate border between Azerbaijan and Armenia is an additional and essential factor of stability.
We hope that the agreements reached by the parties will be successfully implemented. Ukraine is interested in peace and stability in the South Caucasus."
