The US and China should be "partners, not adversaries." Xi to Blinken

On Friday, Chinese President Xi Jinping told US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing that the US and China "should be partners, not adversaries."

The meeting on the final day of Blinken's three-day visit to China will occur as the two countries seek to stabilize strained relations and expand contacts on various issues, from technology to Taiwan. "China wants a self-confident, open, and prosperous United States. We hope that the United States will also look at China's development positively," Xi said to Blinken. Blinken told Xi that the US is "committed to maintaining and strengthening ties with China" and "deals with differences responsibly so that there are no misunderstandings, misconceptions, and miscalculations."
