The US agreed to Israel's actions in Rafah in exchange for countermeasures against Iran

According to a report published on Thursday by the Qatari newspaper The New Arab, the United States approved a possible Israeli operation in Rafah in exchange for the Jewish state not retaliating against Iran.

A senior official told The New Arab that "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has managed to get US approval for a military operation in Rafah in exchange for Israel refraining from launching a large-scale military operation against Iran in response to its latest attack." He stated that "judgments about an Israeli response to Iran are contrary to the wishes of the US administration and unrealistic, given Israel's claims that the United States played a major role in repelling the Iranian attack and preventing its success."
