US House Speaker Mike Johnson said Wednesday he was committed to his plan to table several foreign aid bills, including funding for Ukraine, after facing pressure from hardliners. The additional three-part package is strikingly similar to the Senate bill in several key aspects, including that the package includes more than $9 billion in humanitarian aid for Gaza and other conflict zones worldwide, a red line for Democrats.
The bill would send $61 billion to Ukraine and regional partners, $23 billion of which would go toward stockpiling in the United States. It will also include an allocation of $26 billion to Israel and $8 billion to the Indo-Pacific region.
