G7 foreign ministers gathered to discuss the situation in the Middle East, Ukraine, and Russia

Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani received the G7 partners on the picturesque island of Capri. The meeting began with formal greetings, handshakes, and dinner.

It will conclude on Friday with the announcement of a joint communiqué. Now, the Middle East theme has come to the fore because of the real risk of escalation after the conflict between Israel and Iran. However, everything remains in the context of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Nobody forgets about Ukraine. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba, who will arrive on the island in the Gulf of Naples on Thursday accompanied by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, was invited to the extraordinary session. In addition to them, the participation of the new president of the African Union, the president of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Ghazvani, was announced. Other countries are not included in the meeting program.

As mentioned in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic statement, the agenda is focused on the main topics at the core of the international discussion, starting with recent developments in the Middle East, the situation in Gaza, and the crisis in the Red Sea.

Kuleba and Stoltenberg will participate in a discussion of the situation around Ukraine and further joint actions against Russia.
