The IAEA has decided to withdraw its inspectors from Iran's nuclear facilities

The Russian Federation's permanent representative in the organization, Mikhail Ulyanov, announced that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is temporarily withdrawing its inspectors from Iran amid tensions in the region.

"Due to the tense situation in the region, the IAEA has decided to withdraw its inspectors from Iran's nuclear facilities temporarily," the diplomat wrote.

Earlier, the head of the IAEA, Raphael Grossi, stated that the tensions in the Middle East did not affect the work of inspectors of Iran's nuclear facilities. According to the head of the IAEA, the Iranian authorities informed the agency that on April 14, the republic's nuclear facilities will be closed due to security reasons. Grossi noted that for the safety of the inspectors, the organization decided to return to inspections on April 16.
