Paris recalls its ambassador to Azerbaijan for consultations

France has decided to recall its ambassador to Azerbaijan for consultations in the context of Azerbaijan's unilateral actions, which harm relations between the two countries.

The president of the republic, in a show of sincere concern, received the ambassador today. He expressed his regret for Azerbaijan's actions and reiterated his strong desire to hear the explanation from the Azerbaijani side, in a bid to understand the situation better.

It is also noted that France has reaffirmed its support for normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia while respecting international law and both countries' territorial integrity.

"This standardization will benefit both the countries and the entire region," said the department's message.
