"Azerbaijan has returned to Armenia all those arrested, except for those who committed serious crimes." MFA of Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan returned all arrested persons to Armenia; others are charged with serious crimes. Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elnur Mammadov, announced this during his speech at the hearing at the International Criminal Court.
"All prisoners of war, as well as most of the arrested, were returned to Armenia. Others are in prison for serious crimes, including torture and murder, as well as war crimes, terrorism, and separatism. In other words, their detention has nothing to do with racial discrimination. Similarly, accusations of the forced deportation of Armenians by Armenia have nothing to do with racial discrimination. However, Azerbaijan takes these ambitions seriously and cooperates with Armenia to ensure transparency and mutual trust," he noted.
