Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed the situation in the region after Iran's retaliatory attack on Israel.
Fidan reminded Blinken that the Gaza war is at the heart of the Israeli-Iranian conflict and that a ceasefire is needed; otherwise, the crisis will continue to escalate.
In a conversation with his American counterpart, Hakan Fidan emphasized that Turkey is worried about the possibility of the crisis escalating in the region and spreading further. He noted that since the beginning of the Gaza crisis, Turkey has repeatedly stated that it is in danger of turning into a regional conflict.
Fidan reminded Blinken that an immediate ceasefire must be declared and "the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid" must be ensured; otherwise, the scale of the crisis will continue to escalate.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also said that the countries that influence Israel should send the right signals to prevent the escalation of tensions.
