UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres made a statement regarding the escalation of the conflict between Iran and Israel.
He strongly condemned Tehran's large-scale attack on Tel Aviv and called for an immediate end to hostilities.
Guterres emphasized that the parties are obliged to exercise maximum restraint and avoid any actions that could intensify the confrontation in the Middle East.
"I have repeatedly emphasized that neither the region nor the world can afford another war," the UN Secretary-General concluded.
Iran's Foreign Ministry has stated that Tehran will not hesitate to take further defensive measures against any military aggression. At the same time, the agency affirmed its commitment to UN principles and international law.
