Hamas refuses to release 40 prisoners in deal with Israel

"Times of Israel" reported that the Palestinian radical movement Hamas is refusing to release 40 hostages as part of a proposed ceasefire deal with Israel in the Gaza Strip.

Israel is demanding the return of 40 live hostages from Hamas under a new Gaza ceasefire proposal. However, Hamas has stated that it will have to release Israeli male soldiers because the movement does not have 40 living older men, women, and female soldiers. At the same time, the radicals refuse to release the male soldiers captured on October 7 of last year and are ready to release less than 40 hostages, reports the "Kan" television and radio company, calling this issue the biggest obstacle to the ongoing negotiations in Cairo.
