The EU will provide 500 million euros of macro-financial assistance to Jordan

The European Commission has accepted a proposal for a new macro-financial aid operation to Jordan of up to 500 million dollars. The financial support is an essential demonstration of the EU's partnership and solidarity with Jordan. The proposed financial assistance aims to help Jordan cover part of its external financing needs and support budget consolidation and structural reforms so that Jordan's ambitious reform program can continue, promoting job creation, economic growth, and investment.

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said, "Today's proposal is a clear indication of the EU's continued solidarity with Jordan. By providing up to $500 million, we will support Jordan in these challenging times of political instability. We will also help ensure the continuation of reforms in Jordan aimed at job creation, economic growth, and investment."
