Some Palestinians who returned to the streets of Khan Younis after the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the city found themselves surrounded by badly damaged buildings, as seen in the footage shot by a resident of Gaza. During the Israeli invasion, there was a large concentration of military equipment in the area.
In the first days of the war, the IDF declared the town of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza a safe zone.
